Change – that’s the big word associated with the 2008 presidential race in the United States of America.  Every candidate professes to be the best executor of improvement, the most competent change agent for their nation’s and the world’s well being.

Maybe they are willfully ignoring the fact that “change happens, whether you want it to or not!”

Seasons change.  Spring follows Winter. It happens every year. Summer changes to Fall. Change happens.

Children grow up.  They become adults. Marry.  Move away. Then some of them come home with their own sons and daughters. Change happens.

And we grow older.  Hair turns grey. Joints creak. Medicine bottles jostle for room on the shelf. Change happens.

Our friends cross the river.  We could be next.  It’s inevitable.  Change happens.

But God says, I DO NOT CHANGE!  Immovable, dependable, faithful, true to His Word – that’s our God.  From a past eternity to a future that’s everlasting, God is God!  He can be trusted.

 And it’s because of Him – the immutable God – Jesus Christ, the same, yesterday, today, and forever – that we wobbly, waffling creatures of change can find stability, assurance and confidence.

It’s not by chance you happened on this web page today, so let me invite you – no matter what changes you have endured or are presently experiencing – let me invite you to throw out the anchor of your faith onto the Rock of Ages.   

I’m going through some significant changes in my life, but of this I can be certain – no matter how the storms of life may howl and threaten, no matter how much I may shake and shiver in my little boat, MY ANCHOR HOLDS!
